Warbud - a Top-Notch Company 2015

On 26 November 2015 the seat of the Polish Olympic Committee in Warsaw was the venue for the awards ceremony of the 16th edition of the contest "Builder of Polish Sports". One of the winners of the award given by the Sportowa Polska club was the company Warbud S.A. who had won the "Top-Notch Company" title for the construction of the Water Park in Koszalin. It must be added that investors often praised their contractors or suppliers and some of the nominations in the category Top-Notch Company were proposed by the satisfied investors.

Warbud was represented by Mr. Piotr Pazderski - Project Manager responsible for the winning construction project.

The guests of the Gala were also outstanding sports personalities - their presence was a reminder that construction is similar to sports - it is connected with overcoming difficulties, persistent struggle to achieve goals and playing fair.

On the stage there were two guests: Mr. Paweł Nastula - Olympic champion of the 1996 Atlanta games, double world champion, triple European champion, 13-time Polish champion, and Mr. Grzegorz Skrzecz - a heavyweight boxer from Gwardia Warszawa sports club. He won a bronze medal in the 1982 Olympic Games in Munich and a bronze medal of the European Championships in Varna in 1983.

The sportsmen, referring to their own experience, stressed the importance of modern sports facilities for the development of Olympic sports.

The construction of the Koszalin Water Park - a flagship construction project for the City - was completed after 22 months. The project was implemented in a formula untypical for this kind of contracts - redesign and build. The Contractor was obliged to make changes to the design provided by the Client and then implement it. 'The first difficulties occurred due to the complex geological structure of the terrain,' said Krzysztof Trzaska, director of Branch North implementing the project. 'The elevation of the building was raised by 1.5 m and therefore it was necessary to obtain a replacement building permit. This in turn caused other changes. An alternative detailed design was being prepared on an ongoing basis for quite an untypical facility which had to be built. This was a project which brought many challenges and emotions at every phase, but also a lot of satisfaction. We must say that we got for it the highest marks and the First Prize in the Building Safely competition,' concluded Mr. Trzaska. 'Once again I want to thank my construction team for their effort and involvement.'
