CONSTRUCTION SURVIVAL

The Foundation is one of the sponsors of the event called SPOT Construction Survival. It is an event organized with the participation of volunteers from academic circles - including students of design and construction faculties (architecture, construction, installations, urban planning). The originator of the event is a group of architects and industry professionals who share a passion. The event combines learning to build with educational and creative workshops. Thanks to that charity event, in 2021 a scouting base facility was renovated - an activity room in Rajec near Radom, which had for many decades served generations of local scouts.

"EVENING OF DREAMS"

June is the month of the Child. It's a time for festivities, fun, ice-cream and candyfloss. It's a time of joy. Unfortunately not all children may get a present or go to a picnic. Not all of them will get unexpected pleasures.

There are a number of children struggling with their disabilities, incurable diseases who are closed all day long within the four walls of their rooms either in their own homes or at hospitals. However, each of those children wait for their holiday with the same impatience as their healthy peers. Usually their parents spend their last money on treatment and rehabilitation and do not have anything left for special attractions or surprises.

On the occasion of the Children's Day our foundation "Warbud - Warto pomagać" organised especially for them an "Evening of Dreams" together with the Warsaw ZOO and Children's Fantasies Foundation. The event took place for the thirteenth time now on June 2, 2017.

Thanks to among others our support sick children and their loved ones could spend a wonderful afternoon in the Zoo and move to the land of dreams, fantasies, places of joy and forgetfulness. No one paid attention to their different appearance or disabilities, no one pointed their fingers at them or evaluate them. There were approximately 250 children with their carers.

The rich programme of the "Evening of Dreams", in addition to the free-of-charge visit to the Zoo, covered numerous attractions such as magic shows, drum playing, animations for children, face painting, trampoline, inflatables, big soap bubbles and mascots, donkey rides, a bonfire with sausages.

Child Support Centre
We have supported the creation of a Child Support Centre operating at the foundation Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę (Giving Strength to Children Foundation) - formerly Fundacja Dzieci Niczyje (Nobody's Children Foundation). The Foundation since its creation has been helping to ensure safe childhood for all children and make others treat them with respect. The experience of violence has a number of negative consequences for a child - it disturbs its intellectual, emotional and social development and the effects of the trauma may last for years. Therefore it is very important to prevent violence and early identify any threats to children's safety. The basic element which is necessary for that is the knowledge about violence and its mechanisms. Especially important are the competences of the professionals working with children in care, school and health facilities. Their sensitivity, knowledge and ability to intervene are the key factors in protecting children against violence. There are generally four types of violence against children: physical and mental abuse, sexual abuse and negligence. Various types of oppression may leave visible symptoms which give specialist certainty or raise suspicion that a child is an abuse victim. However, observable abuse symptoms, especially of psychological and sexual abuse - occur very rarely. Therefore it is very important to obtain knowledge on psychosomatic symptoms and characteristic traits of child behaviour which are a result of violence.
At the Child Support Centre:
-The abused children and their guardians are offered psychological and legal support.
-Children are instructed how to avoid violence and abuse.
-Adults are instructed how to help children and what they may do not to expose them to abuse.
-Adults are instructed how to react when they suspect that a child is suffering harm.
We want to change Polish law to make it protect children's interests.

Holy Cross Hospice in Mokotów
We have given money to equip a new room with medical and rehabilitation equipment for the sick and the homeless.  The centre offers specialist, free 0f charge hospital shelters and a homeless hospice at Magazynowa and Dojazdowa streets in Warsaw. They are the only such well run and organised facilities of that type in Poland's capital. A lot of attention is paid here to kind, comprehensive and personalised care. The patients after convalescence leave the facility in much better health, which often allows them to break free from their homelessness.

Social and health summer camp in Chełmiec
Our Foundation "Warbud - Warto pomagać" was among the group of sponsors of the social and health summer camp for children from low income families living in the Nowy Sącz region. The camp was organized for the twenty-fourth time by the Social Problems Prevention Centre in Nowy Sącz.160 children took part in the two-week camp periods. The children came from the poorest large families in difficult financial situation. The curriculum of the camp included not only elements of entertainment such as trips and sightseeing but also educational activities, works and prevention and psychotherapy sessions. In addition to the many attractions on the premises, such as a roller-skating rink or skate park, the children had a chance to go to sightseeing tours to Cracow, Niedzica or Czorsztyn. At the end of the camp all the children got some very valuable presents such as backpacks, books, notebooks, schools stationery, clothes and shoes.

We assist in buying food and chemical products for holidays, subsidize the purchase of school books for the children and provide funds for the current needs of such paying bills. Our support for this institution is also based on voluntary work of our employees.

All children are ours
Our cooperation with Children’s Friends Society (TPD) develops on many levels, including the field of children and youth recreation and leisure funding during school holidays. We have participated in charitable actions the proceeds from which are intended to help children from dysfunctional families.

SOS Children's Villages
Warbud Foundation along with 10 companies from the Pivot Club (an association of companies belonging to the VINCI Group and operating in Poland) has provided funds to modernize the oldest house in the Children's Village in Bilgoraj. The colllected sum allowed us to renovate one of the family houses.
