‘MARYMONT’ METRO STATION IN WARSAW

Warbud was responsible for the development of architectural, structural and execution designs for all the branch works and acted as the main contractor in the construction process.

The Marymont station, which we completed ahead of schedule, consists of two levels - the platform and a shopping mall. The building with length of 156 m and width of 21 m has a reinforced concrete structure. The steel structure above the ground level was clad with zinc-coated troughed sheet. Station interior has grey, silver and blue finishes made of granite, steel, glass and aluminium.

The innovative construction methods such as the mezzanine suspension method used for the construction of that metro section were recognized by the jurors of the international conference 'Engineering 2006'. Warbud received a Titan

statuette in the 'Underground Construction' category.

Station construction required the use of 10 954 m3 of concrete and 936 tons of steel.
