Warbud to build a hangar with Poland's largest aircraft painting hall

Warbud has signed a contract for the construction of a hangar for transport and passenger aircraft including an apron in Bydgoszcz. The contract was signed on May 4. The Employer is the company Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze Nr 2 in Bydgoszcz. The company is one of more than 30 firms owned by the Polish Arms Industry Group.

The contract covers the construction of:

  • a maintenance hall (3 750 m2)
  • a painting hall (3 650 m2)
  • welfare and technical facilities (2 000 m2)
  • external utility networks
  • aircraft aprons (16 000 m2)
  • roads and parkings (2 500 m2)

The structure to be built by Warbud will be a painting hall for medium-range transport and passenger aircraft with a complete equipment for professional aircraft painting and also meeting requirements for a hall for day-to-day and scheduled service operations, including all maintenance operations for Hercules C-130 aircraft or another passenger aircraft such as Boeing 767-300ER, Boeing 737-900ER, Airbus A-320-200.
The hall is necessary to:

  • create a facility for main technical maintenance services PDM (Programmed Depot Maintenance) as well as HSC (Home Station Check) and ISO (Isochronal Inspection),
  • obtain space for servicing, maintenance and upgrading transport aircraft,
  • create places for removing and renovation of paint layers on transport and passenger aircraft,
  • create a place for short technical maintenance operations for passenger and cargo aircraft for Bydgoszcz Airport,
  • create a place for servicing paint systems on passenger and cargo aircraft,
  • build an apron allowing for performing save aircraft manoeuvring in front of the hangar.

Scheduled project implementation time (including obtaining an occupancy permit): May 2015 - April 2016.
