Statuette of Polish Business Leader for Jerzy Werle, President of the Warbud SA’s Management Board

On Saturday, January 26, 2019, on the stage of the Grand Theatre - Polish National Opera, "Polish Business Leader" statuettes were presented for the 28th time. This year, the winner of this prestigious distinction was Jerzy Werle, President of the Management Board and Director General of Warbud SA. The jury of the competition in their substantiation of the verdict emphasized the nationwide activity of the Warbud’s President to improve work safety in the construction industry, innovative activity, creation of new jobs, involvement in charity and care for the natural environment.

The aim of the Business Center Club competition is to reward companies and their managers achieving the best economic results, distinguished by their commitment to the economic development of the country, adhering to the principles of business ethics and engaged in social activities.

When opening the official part of the ceremony Mr Marek Goliszewski, Chairman of BCC, said ‘We are meeting today to thank the unique people. Creators of jobs, state revenues, the sense of our security. We are meeting at a time when the world and Poland stand at the crossroads of the ages. The crossroads require foresight and decisions. In our country, they will be made in this year's elections to the European Parliament and the Sejm. (...) Employers trust that the government and the opposition will find the strength of statesmen in them (...).”

During the gala, BCC members supported the following foundations: “Zdążyć z Pomocą", the Lubomirski Princes Foundation, the Pallottine Missionary Foundation Salvatti.pl, the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights and Special Olympic Games Poland. In this year's gala, among nearly 2,000 guests, alongside outstanding entrepreneurs from all over Poland and BCC members, there were also members of the government, parliament, diplomats, representatives of the world of culture, science, the clergy and well-known journalists.

The gala concert was performed by the AFFABRE vocal ensemble, and the ceremony was conducted by Serafina Ogończyk-Mąkowska and Grzegorz Miśtal.
