WARBUD receives TOPBuilder statuette for the construction of the second stage of the Central Integrated Clinical Hospital in Poznań

The prestigious TopBuilder 2026 awards have just been presented. WARBUD SA won the gold award in the building projects category for the construction of the second stage of the Central Integrated Clinical Hospital in Poznań. The awards ceremony took place on May 28 at the Zamojski Palace in Warsaw, the headquarters of the Association of Polish Architects – a partner of the competition. The team behind the award-winning project was represented at the event by Mr. Piotr Tokarz, Director of the Medical Construction Division, and Mr. Jacek Surmacz, Contract Manager for CZSK II.

‘My heartfelt thanks go to those directly involved in the construction process, led by Jacek Surmacz and Andrzej Szczęsny. I also thank my colleagues who have been involved in supporting the project,’ said Mr Tokarz.

Jacek Surmacz emphasised that the success was also possible thanks to the dialogue and effective cooperation between the parties to the contract:

‘I would like to thank both the Client – the Poznań University of Medical Sciences and the Poznań University Clinical Hospital – and our consortium partner - TKT Engineering, and the INDUSTRIA project team. I would like to extend my special thanks to the entire team with whom I had the pleasure of working on this project – both those directly involved in the construction process and everyone who supported the project in its earlier stages.’

The award ceremony coincided with the transfer of the completed project to the client. The award was a recognition of the efforts of the entire construction team, whose work resulted in the creation of three modern and functional hospital modules and an entrance pavilion, covering a total area of over 30,000 m².

The new buildings (M3, M4 and M5) house key clinics: cardiology with intensive care, cardiac surgery with transplantology, endocrinology, vascular surgery, otolaryngology, maxillofacial surgery, neurosurgery, hypertension and gastroenterology. The complex is complemented by hybrid operating theatres and treatment rooms, as well as interventional cardiology suites. The building also contains a hospital pharmacy and a general analysis laboratory. Other major components of the complex are the diagnostic imaging facilities, as well as the isotope therapy unit, which is equipped with a full range of facilities for the preparation of radiopharmaceuticals and the safe treatment of radioactive wastewater.

‘The concept of an integrated hospital is based on relocating and merging hospital units scattered across various locations into a single facility, combining the functions of several smaller hospitals into one centre. We are delighted that, together with the team, we have created a modern space that combines functionality and medical technology within an elegant structure, but the most important thing is that many patients will recover here,’ emphasised Piotr Tokarz.

Today, CZSK – together with Stage 1, which was completed by WARBUD two years ago – covers over 60,000 square metres and is the largest healthcare development project in Poznań. It addresses both the growing needs of the public and the need to raise medical care standards.
