This was the third time we took part in this unique event, which combines a passion for sport with the professionalism of the construction industry. Participants from all over Poland competed on the 40-kilometre race route during the 3rd Polish Construction Industry Road Cycling Championships, proving that determination and perseverance are qualities shared both on the construction site and in sports.
Fifteen people – including one woman – competed for VINCI Construction Polska. It was Ewelina Wallis who made it onto the podium, finishing in a strong 3rd place in the women’s K41–99 category. Our men, Andrzej Michalak and Damian Goliat, also performed brilliantly; on the demanding course through the Niepołomice Forest, they demonstrated excellent form, finishing 15th and 16th respectively in the men’s M40-49 category. They covered the 40 km distance at an impressive pace, clocking times of 1:09:07.10 and 1:09:13.70, which means they maintained an average speed of nearly 35 km/h for over an hour!

The championships are not just about sporting competition, but also a great opportunity to bring the construction community together and build relationships in a friendly, informal atmosphere.
The Polish Construction Industry Road Cycling Championships are being held as part of the ‘Helping Builds’ charity campaign organised by the Maj Family Foundation to support children with mental and physical health issues. This year’s initiatives are supporting the SENSE and BREATH projects, as well as the construction of a home for Kubuś, who needs a fully adapted living space.
