On 17 July 2026, a ceremony was held at General Tadeusz Kościuszko Land Forces Academy in Wrocław to mark the opening of the new sports complex and the refurbished barracks building.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of National Defence, including Under-Secretary of State Mr. Stanisław Wziątek, representatives of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, the Wrocław Garrison and the Land Forces Academy, acting as the contracting authority, and WARBUD SA, the main contractor for the project. Our company was represented at the ceremony by Mr. Nicolas Dépret, Chairman of the Management Board of WARBUD SA; Mr. Grzegorz Chudzik, Member of the Management Board, Mr. Damian Lewiński, Contract Director; and Mr. Tomasz Nowak, Site Manager.

The new infrastructure provides state-of-the-art facilities for the training of future Polish Army officers, enabling teaching, sports training, and military training to be conducted to the highest standard. The project also addresses the Academy’s growing needs arising from the steady increase in the number of cadets and students.

As part of the contract, WARBUD completed a modern sports complex comprising sports pitches, a sports hall covering an area of over 6,000 sqm and a Fitness Centre. The hall has been fitted out with, amongst other things, three full-size sports pitches, two climbing walls, a gym, martial arts studios, a fitness studio, a wellness area, and teaching and administrative facilities. The complex is complemented by a full-size football pitch with 400-metre athletics track and a partially covered stand, multi-purpose pitches, and a tennis court.

The construction work was executed on in a closed area owned by the Ministry of National Defence, which required precise coordination and close cooperation between all those involved in the construction process. The partner relations between the Contractor, the Client, and the Contract Engineer, based on mutual trust, effective decision-making and an openness to optimising the solutions adopted, was of key importance. One of the most significant design changes was the replacement of the originally planned masonry structure with a prefabricated reinforced concrete structure. Combined with the other measures, this allowed us to complete the project almost four months ahead of the contractual deadline.
