Warbud News

Warbud will build for GDDKIA (General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways) a section of S17 Expressway. On 22 November 2017 our company signed a contract for designing and construction of the S17 road at the section from Zakręt junction (including the junction) to Lubelska junction (without the junction) being part of the East Ring Road of Warsaw. Warbud was represented in the ceremony by its Chairman and Director General Mr Jerzy Werle. The Client was represented by among others by Minister of Infrastructure and Construction Mr Marek Chodkiewicz.

The road section with a length of approx. 2.5 km (two roadways with three lanes) is to be built in 34 months. The work execution time does not contain winter periods that is the days from December 15 to March 15.

Detailed scope of work:

• Construction of an expressway section with the associated technical infrastructure and traffic safety devices
• Construction of an expressway junction
• Construction and rebuilding of the existing roads at the places of conflicts with the expressway
• Construction of local roads and access roads to road equipment
• Construction of walkways for pedestrians and cycle roads
• Construction of emergency passes and emergency access roads for the expressway
• Construction of a road prism drainage system
• Construction of environmental protection facilities
• Rebuilding of conflicting utilities and technical infrastructure
• Construction and rebuilding the road lights
• Traffic organisation (vertical and horizontal signage with accessories), traffic safety devices
• Strengthening of the soil
• Removal of vegetation
• Landscaping works and planting of greenery
• Bus bays
• Construction of civil structures such as:

-flyovers

-pedestrian bridge

-underground passages

-culverts

-noise barriers

-retaining walls,

• Construction of elements of a traffic management system
• Construction of telecommunication cable ducts
• All work connected with the rebuilding and demolition of any structures in conflict with the construction project
• Temporary traffic organisation
