Warbud has signed another medical contract in this month - this time the work will be carried out in the capital of Poland. The contract for the modernisation of the Obstetrics and Neonatology Unit in the area of Bródno Hospital in Warsaw was signed on 16 November by Mr Lech Wąsowski, Director of Warbud's Medical Construction Division.

Warbud's contract covers the adaptation of the Obstetrics and Neonatology Unit located in Building E of the Hospital to the standards and conditions which are now obligatory for health care facilities. The obstetrics pavilion has five floors. In addition to that it has two technical floors out of which one is situated in the basement and the second under the roof.

Under the contract Warbud will adapt the currently unused 4th floor to house offices and employee amenities, modernise circulation routes, patient rooms, doctor rooms and auxiliary rooms on all floors of the building, upgrade the central heating system, electrical system, medical gases system and the ventilation system.

Detailed scope of work covers:

• Demolition of part of old partition walls, making an opening and installation of a new entrance at the low ground floor level, removal of the existing internal doors;
• Removal of top floor finishing layers;
• Removal of the existing suspended ceilings;
• Removal of the existing internal systems
• Installation of new stud partition walls finished with gypsum boards;
• Replacement and modernisation of internal systems - water distribution, sewer, heating, HVAC and electrical systems;
• Renovation of walls and ceilings (repair of existing plaster, plastering, smoothing and painting);
• Waterproofing of the so-called 'wet' rooms;
• Installation of suspended ceilings;
• Laying of homogeneous vinyl flooring in medical rooms;
• Installation of sanitary systems and equipment in the rooms
• Finishing and cleaning works.
