JERZY WERLE – Director General of Warbud SA

born 5 March 1960 in Warsaw

Professional experience:

• Graduated from the Sanitary Engineering Faculty in 1983 (specializing in Water Construction), then gained engineering experience on the building of a water intake station for Warsaw in Wieliszewo and the Wilanowska station on the Warsaw Metro.
• Worked for five years as Technical Director of Domy Phenix, a company building steel-framed houses. The firm belonged to Generale des Eaux, one of the world’s largest holding companies in the construction sector.
• Since 1995 he has worked on construction projects for Warbud SA.
  As Production Director he managed preparations for production, design of the construction technology to be used, and the construction of buildings and structures such as the pylon of Swietokrzyski Bridge in Warsaw, Sucharski Bridge in Gdansk, Siekierkowski Bridge and Czerniakowska Junction in Warsaw, and the Obornicka road bridge in Poznan.
• Since 1 January 2005 he has been Warbud SA’s Director General.

Awards:

For the design of the construction technology for the Siekierkowski Bridge, he and his team were awarded:

• the Infrastructure Minister’s First Prize for outstanding creative achievements in architecture and construction;
• the Central Technical Organization’s First Prize for outstanding technical achievements.
