1989 Wlodzimierz Wlodarczyk’s private construction firm PP WARBUD begins operating.
1991 First large contract signed, for the basic structure of the Hotel Mercure in Warsaw
1992 PP WARBUD is transformed into a joint venture company in association with the French construction giant CBC (now Vinci Construction, a subsidiary of the Vinci Group).
1993–1994 The new company erects many prestigious buildings in Warsaw (e.g. the Atrium Business Centre) and signs its first contracts as a general contractor (e.g. for an office building for Elektrim SA).
1995 The company enters the residential construction sector, becoming the general contractor for a residential estate at ul. Raclawicka in Warsaw. Over the next 10 years Warbud SA will complete homes in Poland with a total area of over 1 000 000 m², becoming the unquestioned leader in this sector of the market.
1997 Warbud SA tenders successfully for the contract to build station A-15 (Ratusz) for the Warsaw Metro, its first civil engineering project.
1998 The company begins erecting commercial buildings, signing a contract to build the basic structure of the Galeria Mokotow mall. In just a few years – in 2004-2007 – Warbud SA will find itself at the top of rankings of constructors of commercial buildings, including Poland’s largest and best-known retail centres. Overall the company has built commercial sites with a total area of more than 1 400 000 m².
1999 Warbud SA takes part in the construction of a cable-stayed bridge for the first time, with the building of the pylon of Swietokrzyski Bridge in Warsaw. The experience gained brought benefits in the execution of further civil engineering projects, including Siekierkowski Bridge in Warsaw, the Bridge of the Third Millennium in Gdansk, the Obornicka road bridge in Poznan, and Czerniakowska Junction in Warsaw. In the same year, Warbud was registered as a publicly-traded company.
2000–2001 First projects outside Mazowieckie province – in Krakow, Gdansk and Lublin. In 2000 the company also obtained its first ISO 9002 certificate (1996).
2002 Strong expansion throughout the country, with branches operating in Bialystok, Lublin, Poznan, Gdansk and Krakow.
2003 First foreign project – a Grade A office building called Globe Trade Centre in Belgrade (Serbia and Montenegro).
2004 The company’s organizational structure is reengineered for nationwide operations. The construction departments were reorganized into a Specialist Building Directorate (DBS) to coordinate key projects throughout Poland, and five independent Regions with headquarters in Warsaw, Poznan, the Gdansk area, Lublin and Krakow. In the same year the company begins working on environmental construction projects.
2005 The company works on its first military, road-building and special-use projects. The organizational structure is revised, with the formation of separate Directorates for environmental construction, specialist construction and civil engineering (DBE, DBS and DBI), and Regions called Centre, North, South, East and West.
2006-2007 The company expands its range of services still further, with the construction of power engineering and hydraulic engineering projects.
